A GREAT SMALL MOMENT

This is a 24" x 18" portrait called "A Great Small Moment." It's a painting of Judy Prescott and her mother Cecy (done with permission, from a photo found on facebook.com/searchingforcecy). Not long ago, I purchased a book called "Searching For Cecy: Reflections on Alzheimer's" by Judy Prescott. I could so relate to much of what Judy expressed in her moving poems about her mother's journey through Alzheimer's. The fact that she used her creativity to find peace around it all, struck a chord with me. My mother and father's stories weren't Alzheimer's -- theirs was cancer -- but loss is loss, love is love, and creativity is a wonderful way to work with and through it.

"In this beautifully written and illustrated tribute, poet Judy Prescott reflects on her mother’s unexpected journey through the rough seas of Alzheimer’s and her own struggle to find peace. Prescott’s poignant and intimate words offer solace to those facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s today."

You can purchase a copy of the book via Judy's site judyprescott.com or order it through places like Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

MIA AND SPOOKY

This is a 24" x 20" commissioned painting I did for a family in Hawaii. I'm curious what Mia and Spooky are fixated on.

EL RAYO

This was a fun project. El Rayo Taqueria (Portland, Maine) wanted to do a calendar this year and presented me with the assignment of painting a 20" x 24" portrait in the style of the 1930's Mexican Calendar Girl portraits: Chicas de Calendarios Mexicanos.

HOW YOU GONNA KEEP EM DOWN ON THE FARM...

This portrait was a Christmas surprise: commissioned by family, for family. It was a pleasure to paint all that warmth and life, with temperatures hovering in the teens outside. It measures 18"x 24".

SPAGHETTI JACK

This is an 18"x 24" painting - a Christmas commission. It's pretty obvious here, that when it comes to enjoying spaghetti, there are no age requirements.

GET ME TO THE CHURCH ON TIME

This is an 18"x24" portrait I painted from a photo that the amazing photographer Felice Boucher took. A painted wedding portrait could be a unique memento to "the day" - feel free to contact me if you have a portrait in mind.
